Higher Quality Health Care
Senator Kennedy calls it a national disgrace that America is the only industrial nation in the world that refuses to guarantee health care for all its people. The Senator has long called for legislation by Congress to achieve that goal by extending Medicare to all Americans. He feels that much of the cost can be offset by modernizing the administration costs of the current health system by widely expanding the use of information technology in all aspects of health care. The Senator supports making prescription drugs more affordable, especially for seniors, by allowing safe import from other countries. The health care system has effectively eliminated competition in drug pricing, which leaves millions of Americans without the medications they need. Innovation in the medical world has made contraception a universal reality, and has drastically lowered the number of unwanted pregnancies. The complexity of the responsibilities facing women today demands that they have full access to family planning. Read more about Senator Kennedy’s work to get Americans higher quality health care |
