Promotion of Civil Rights
Americans deserve equality in every aspect of life. He is a leader in calling an end to discrimination in the workplace, and in prosecuting hate crimes based on bigotry. Senator Kennedy believes members of the judiciary should be committed to protecting the fundamental Constitutional principles our country was founded on, and should have independence from any agenda or special interest as they decide on issues affecting every American, including a woman’s right to choose. Civil rights, he believes, is still the unfinished business of America; we cannot rollback the progress of recent decades; we must continue to increase it.
